企业怎样应对自然灾害（双语）
Entrepreneurs are known to take risks. But when it comes to dealing with Mother Nature, erring on the side of caution may be a smart move.
企业家总是面临各种各样的风险。想要应付自然灾害一类的天灾，还真是需要防患于未然。
Just this week, an earthquake centered in Virginia shook much of the East Coast and a hurricane is expected to hit Florida on Thursday.
就在最近，弗吉尼亚州发生了一场地震，东海岸大部分地区都受到了重创。佛罗里达州近期也有一场飓风。
Business owners can minimize potential harm from a natural disaster or severe storm by taking the following precautions:
若想要在自然灾害或是特大风暴中尽可能减少损失，企业家应当做到如下几条:
1. Review the fine print on your company's insurance policy. Consider, for example, that hazard insurance doesn't necessarily cover flood insurance.
1. 仔细查看公司的保险条款，比如，看看里面的巨灾险中是否包括了洪水灾。
2. Make copies of your insurance policy and financial records and store them in a safe place away from your business.
2. 将公司的保险条款文件和财务报表复印好，存放在公司以外的安全地方。
3. Create a checklist that addresses plans for short-term relocation, data back-up and communication systems.
3. 列一个清单，上面记录好短期的重新安置方案，以及如何做好数据备份和通讯系统恢复等工作。
4. Provide supervisors and employees with instructions on what they should do in the event of an emergency. Remind them of it at least once a year.
4. 为公司的领导和员工配发求生指南，指导他们在紧急情况下应如何应对。提醒他们至少一年温习一次。
5. Regularly update employee, customer and vendor contact information and store copies in a remote location.
5. 经常更新员工、客户和供应商的联系方式，将备份文件存放在远离公司的地方。
6. Regularly check that gas lines, water heaters and other hazardous equipment are secure. Likewise, make sure ceiling lights, windows, picture frames, bookshelves and other hanging fixtures items are properly braced.
6. 经常检查天然气管道、热水器和其他可能造成灾害的设施，确保安全。同样，也要检查吊灯、窗户、画框、书架和其他一些挂件，确保这些东西安放得很牢固。
7. Check the quality of your establishment's roof at least once a year. A well-functioning roof should be able to protect the entire structure.
